Shut Up

Dear world: if you know information that you know another person considers private (not withstanding legally required disclosures especially for certain professions) --then you have two choices: respect their privacy or ignore it.

Either way, your opinion of the "validity" of their privacy is irrelevant.

Also, please know that since you're not privy to ALL of their personal information, when you breach their privacy you accept the risk of causing them harm... which ummm, could actually be part of the reason they wanted some privacy! And since it's private, you may never know that you actually caused harm... and even if no harm is caused, you've already redefined their trust of you --which means you also have already chosen to live with how they chose to redefine their relationship with you.

For a world full of people who are so freakin' paranoid about being judged, I'm darn tired of those who are quick to judge the privacy of others.

End of rant. You are free to go about your day.
